Lyrics:
You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged Oh I realize It's hard to take courage In a world full of people You can lose sight of it all And the darkness, inside you Can make you feel so small chorus: But I see your true colours Shining through I see your true colours And that's why I love you So don't be afraid to let them show Your true colours True colours are beautiful Like a rainbow Show me a smile then Don't be unhappy, Can't remember when I last saw you laughing If this world makes you crazy And you've taken all you can bear You call me up Because you know I'll be there |
And I'll see your true colours
Shining through I see your true colours And that's why I love you So don't be afraid to let them show Your true colours True colours are beautiful Like a rainbow
Such Sad eyes
Take courage now
Realize When this world makes you crazy And you've taken all you can bear You call me up Because you know I'll be there And I'll see your true colours Shining through I see your true colours And that's why I love you So don't be afraid to let them show Your true colours True colours, true colours Cos there's a shining through I see your true colours And that's why I love you So don't be afraid to let them show Your true colours, true colours True colours are beautiful
Beautiful, like a rainbow

When I've heard Caio singing it, I was first surprised, than very happy as this is one of my favorite songs (it was kind of the "You are Beautiful" of my time), with very empowering lyrics. Great choice (both from a musical and a though provoking point of view). The Chorus in special should be something for them to discuss in the class (since it basically talks about being true to you, or the best "you" that you can be).
ReplyDeleteAnother song with the same "vibe" and a bit closer to their age is this one:

(Will.I.Am and the Sesame Street Crew singing "What I am").
